Chapter 1330
Chapter 1330:
He knelt on one knee and caught my chin in his frigid grip. “Keep talking.”
“Jett’s defiance couldn’t be more blatant, Your Highness,” I said, inching forward with a sycophantic smirk. “His Majesty doesn’t take rebellion lightly. And with his health already in decline… if Jett continues pushing his luck…”
Colt let out a harsh, cutting laugh. “Hahaha…”
He tapped my cheek twice, not too gently, not too hard. “Maybe you do have some value after all.”
I lowered my head in false deference, though venomous fury simmered just beneath the surface.
“Leave,” he ordered with a flick of his hand, as though swatting at a gnat.
I retreated, head still bowed, until the door slammed shut behind me with finality. Alone in the hallway, rage surged through me. My clenched iron fist drove into the wall with a brutal thud, making the overhead lights tremble from the force.
“Curse you, Colt Bates,” I growled, jaw clenched so tight my teeth ached. The metallic tang of blood filled my mouth—I had bitten the inside of my cheek when he kicked me earlier.
Behind me, footsteps approached with hesitation. One of my men spoke up, his voice wavering. “Mr. Harrison, please… we still need Prince Colt’s backing.”
“Backing?” I turned on him, seizing his throat with my iron hand and slamming him against the wall. “He’s nothing but a pampered parasite clinging to his noble name!”
He thrashed in panic, his hands clawing at my wrist.
With a scornful snort, I let go. He crumpled to the floor, wheezing and hacking as he clutched his throat.
“W-We need to wait for the right moment, sir,” he stammered, voice hoarse.

“Wait?” I echoed, fingers drifting across the edge of my mangled limb. The old…
The ache returned—a deep, dull pulse that frayed what little patience I had left. “I’ve waited long enough.”
A reckless idea surged through me, wild and electric.
“If I could get my hands on the werewolves’ sacred artifact, not even the Wizard Clan would dare defy me, let alone the werewolves,” I whispered, the vision taking shape in my mind.
My head snapped toward the man on the floor. I gripped his collar and hauled him up. “When Makenna fell from that cliff, what became of the sacred artifact?”
His face drained of color. “Sir, the artifact tumbled into the ravine with her. Dominic and his men have been combing the area ever since. No one’s certain whether it’s in their hands… or still lost.”
From the moment he spoke, the outlines of a cruel plan sharpened in my thoughts.
Makenna’s POV:
The following day, Jett took me to a bridal boutique.
Sunlight danced across the glass display windows, making them sparkle, while the soft chime of the wind bell echoed like a whisper, stirring something deep inside as we stepped over the threshold.
Inside, pristine rows of white wedding gowns stood in flawless alignment, their lace and pearls catching the warm glow of the lights.
“Makenna, which one catches your eye?” Jett’s voice came from behind me.
