Chapter 1329
Chapter 1329:
“The wedding?” I tilted my head, surprise flickering in my eyes as I met his bright ones.
A soft smile curved his lips. “Yes. I’ve been quietly arranging our wedding.”
My brow furrowed, unease creeping into my chest. “But His Majesty will never consent. Defying him will only stoke his wrath. He is your father, Jett. You shouldn’t challenge him for my sake.”
“I care not for his approval!” Jett cut in, his voice resolute.
His fingers grazed my cheek, lingering briefly before settling on my lips. “No force in this world can keep me from claiming you as mine.”
Antoni’s POV:
With great reluctance, I followed Colt back to his villa.
My thoughts churned with fury as the day’s failures replayed in my mind. I had been on Wizard Clan territory, yet I still couldn’t gain the upper hand against Makenna and her cohorts.
As soon as I crossed into the plush, carpeted living room, a brutal kick slammed into my side, sending a bolt of agony through my body.
“Worthless idiot!” Colt’s voice exploded through the space. “This entire disaster was your brilliant plan!”
The impact knocked me off balance, and I dropped to my knees, a sharp jolt shooting through my joints. There was no time to process the pain.
I scrambled forward and reached for the hem of his robe, trying to calm him. “Your Highness… please don’t let anger cloud your judgment,” I murmured, bowing my head low. “I never imagined your father would go so far as to shield Jett and Makenna so openly…”
At that, Colt’s scowl twisted into something even more furious.

He kicked my hand aside and stared down at me, his gaze scorching with a ferocity that brought Jett’s face to mind.
“If you can’t come up with a way to eliminate Jett, then disappear,” he growled. He seized my collar and yanked me to my feet so abruptly that my breath caught in my throat. “I have no room for useless men.”
I managed to swallow, the motion difficult beneath the crushing grip around my neck.
Images from the grand hall earlier surged forward in my thoughts. That filthy creature, Makenna—her transformation should have been triggered by the potion. So why wasn’t it?
“Please, Your Highness,” I choked out, my throat raw. “There’s something strange going on. That potion was effective. It couldn’t have failed under normal circumstances. Jett must have interfered somehow.”
Colt let go without warning, and I collapsed, pulling in sharp breaths as I lay sprawled on the floor.
He paced toward the window, turning his back on me. Spotting an opening, I crept closer, positioning myself near his feet. A sly smile tugged at the corners of my lips. “We won’t even have to get our hands dirty to deal with Jett.”
Colt looked over his shoulder, clearly expecting more.
I lowered my tone. “His Majesty gave Jett a direct warning today. He commanded him to wed a noblewoman from the Wizard Clan. Yet Jett refuses to let go of Makenna…”
At once, Colt turned to face me, interest sparking in his expression.
