Chapter 1313
Chapter 1313:
They traded uneasy glances, their faces clouded with hesitation.
The eldest, with a deferential bow, said, “Miss Dunn, His Highness has decreed that you remain within the villa for now.”
I stilled, caught off guard. “Why?”
“Well…” The servant faltered, words trailing into uncertainty.
My brow furrowed, a spark of frustration kindling. If I was truly Jett’s mate, why was I confined like a caged songbird?
“I only wish to stroll in the garden,” I pressed, my tone sharpening. “Surely a breath of air isn’t forbidden?”
The servants shared flustered looks but, yielding to my resolve, assisted me into a light, elegant ensemble suited for the outdoors.
Makenna’s POV:
The garden’s roses bloomed vibrantly, their crimson petals catching the sunlight like soft velvet. I reached up on tiptoe, fingers grazing the most striking red rose. As I touched it, a blue-winged butterfly darted from its center, startled by my presence.
Lifting the hem of my dress, I followed it a few steps, a playful impulse guiding me. Yet an uneasy feeling crept over me, as if hidden eyes were watching from the shadows.
“Who’s there?” I spun around, my heart quickening.
Two tall figures stepped from behind the rosebushes, approaching me. The man in front wore regal attire, his features eerily similar to Jett’s but sharper, laced with a dangerous edge.
His eyes locked onto mine, pupils shrinking in shock. “Makenna? You’re alive?”
Instinctively, I stepped back, glancing at the maid beside me. Her face had drained of color as she whispered, “Miss Dunn, this is… Prince Colt, the eldest prince of the Wizard Clan.”

So, this was Jett’s older brother.
“Greetings, Your Highness,” I said, forcing a polite smile for Colt.
Colt’s eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing and unrelenting.
Behind him stood another man, his expression dark and foreboding. As I spoke, he stepped forward, his hostile stare fixed on me.
It was then that I noticed his left sleeve ended in a cold, iron prosthetic arm, glinting menacingly in the sunlight.
“And you are?” I asked, unease stirring in my chest. Though I didn’t recognize him, something about him set my nerves on edge.
“You don’t remember me, Makenna?” His voice was rough, like gravel grinding together.
I shook my head. “I hit my head and lost many memories.”
“Ha!” He let out a strange, hollow laugh, the joints of his iron hand clicking ominously. “Amnesia, huh?”
A sly glint in his predatory eyes sent a chill through me.
His intense reaction to my memory loss baffled me, and I stepped back, brushing against the thorny rosebushes. His gaze felt like a hunter sizing up its quarry.
Before I could demand his name, a sharp, commanding voice sliced through the tension. “Back off, Antoni Harrison!”
