Chapter 1278
Chapter 1278:
His face darkened instantly, twisted with rage. His eyes blazed with wild fury. “Excellent! Just excellent!”
He snapped his fingers sharply and shouted, “Grab them!”
Makenna’s POV:
The battle was on the verge of erupting.
Bryan gave a raw, wild yell that echoed across the sky. Suddenly, his body grew and shifted into a massive wolf, charging with the speed and fury of a lightning bolt straight at the nearest soldier.
The sharp sound of claws ripping through metal filled the air as blood splattered against the rocky walls.
“Amon! Protect Makenna!” Dominic shouted urgently before morphing into his wolf form and plunging into the enemy lines.
Leonardo’s cold, sharp eyes stayed locked on me. When he spotted the sacred artifact in my grip, a flicker of greed lit his gaze. “Makenna, give me the sacred artifact, and maybe I’ll let you live.”
“In your dreams!” I snapped back.
Right then, the clang of metal rang out. From every side, dozens of specially forged chains shot forward, wrapping tightly around Bryan and Dominic in their wolf forms.
The chains held fast, unbreakable no matter how hard they struggled.
Leonardo broke into a mad laugh. “Take these two princes straight to the palace! I’ll deal with these traitors myself! And Makenna… make sure she’s dead!”
“No! Don’t you lay a finger on her!” Dominic’s desperate roar tore across the battlefield as the chains dug deep into his skin, blood seeping through his fur. Bryan thrashed violently too, his eyes blazing with rage, but the chains bound him tight.
With a flick of Leonardo’s hand, the rest of the soldiers charged toward me and Amon.

Amon blocked the first few blows, but then a crushing strike landed on his back, forcing him down to his knees.
“Amon!” I shouted, but before I could reach him, a group of soldiers closed in on me. Outnumbered, I was quickly overwhelmed.
Clutching the dagger tightly, I fought back with everything I had.
Out of nowhere, a spear lunged at me, slicing a deep cut across my arm. I gasped sharply, stumbling back until my spine slammed against the cold, hard rock.
I was trapped, with no escape.
“Makenna!” Bryan and Dominic shouted together, their voices thick with hopelessness.
They struggled wildly against the chains, which bit deeper into their skin, turning their fur bright red with blood. No matter how hard they fought, they couldn’t break loose.
The soldiers pressed their spears against my neck and roughly dragged me before Leonardo. They forced me down onto my knees, leaving me helpless to resist.
During the scuffle, the scepter slipped from my fingers and clattered to the ground with a harsh metallic ring. Blood spilled from my mouth, splashing onto the blue crystal orb embedded at the top of the scepter.
To everyone’s shock, the blood soaked in instantly, and ancient werewolf runes lit up on the crystal, casting a ghostly blue glow.
