Chapter 1260
Chapter 1260:
The soldiers, still half-drunk, didn’t spot the two strangers blending in with them. Once we entered the mountain, Dominic quickly dealt with the drunk soldiers and started leading me upward.
The higher we went, the thicker the fog became, making it harder to see. We squeezed through a narrow gorge, and I felt a sudden chill crawl down my back.
Then, from the darkness, I heard a faint noise—like claws scraping against stone.
“Stay sharp!” Dominic yanked me behind him without warning.
From the bushes, several dark figures stepped out. The leader of the werewolf sentries saw Dominic’s face, and his eyes went wide with shock. “Prince Dominic?”
Then, without warning, the leader threw his head back and laughed, his sharp white fangs glinting in the dim light. “Well, well! The word’s out about the three princes turning on the king! And now, Prince Dominic, you’ve walked right into our trap. Looks like I’m about to make quite the name for myself!”
Before he could finish, his body began to grow and shift. Gray fur tore through his skin, and in an instant, he became a huge, menacing wolf.
The sentries behind him also transformed into wolves, growling as they slowly closed in on us.
“Make a name? I wouldn’t bet on that!” Dominic shot back, shoving me behind a big rock. “Stay here and don’t move!” he ordered. In the blink of an eye, his body began to shift and contort.
With the sound of fabric tearing, a massive wolf stood before me.
He was much bigger than the gray wolves, his fur glowing with a cold, shimmering light.
“Awooo…” Dominic let out a loud howl, staring up at the sky before charging toward the pack of wolves.
I pressed my body against the rock, unable to look away as the savage fight played out before me. The air was filled with the sickening sound of teeth tearing into flesh and the cries of pain.

Despite Dominic’s brave efforts, the odds were against him.
I noticed a severe gash on his back leg, blood soaking into his fur.
A gray wolf took advantage of the moment, sinking its teeth deep into Dominic’s shoulder.
My chest tightened painfully as I saw the blood drip and spray in bright, shocking red onto the jagged rocks.
“Over here!” I suddenly yelled, snatching up a rock and throwing it toward the far-off bushes.
The loud thud of the stone striking the ground caught the wolves’ attention, and a few gray wolves turned to chase after it.
Seizing the moment, Dominic lunged at the closest gray wolf and ripped its throat open with his claws.
The other sentries were scared off by Dominic’s fierce assault and hesitated to move forward.
When the final gray wolf dropped, Dominic finally lost his footing. His massive body wavered before shifting back into human form.
I hurried over to steady him.
His face was alarmingly pale, the wound on his shoulder still bleeding profusely.
