Chapter 1203
Chapter 1203:
Before long, the ceremony got underway.
I moved to the front, letting my eyes drift over the crowd, and took it upon myself to speak on Paula’s behalf.
“Today, we stand together to say goodbye to our teammate, our dear friend, Paula…”
I paused, struggling to keep my voice steady.
“Paula wasn’t just the fiercest among us—she was also the most devoted companion. She laid down her life to shield me… to shield all of us…”
As I went on, tears once again traced warm paths down my cheeks.
“Though losing Paula has broken my heart, I’m certain she’d want us to keep pushing forward, to uphold what we believe in together… Paula, wherever you are, trust that we will seek justice for you…”
Just as I came to the end, Alice stepped forward without a word. She gently dabbed the tears from my face with a handkerchief.
I stepped away quietly, and then Bryan, along with a few others, stepped up to honor her memory.
The white wolf clan members stood in silence, their tears falling quietly, mourning the loss of this courageous woman.
When the ceremony ended, we carried Paula to her final resting place—on the tallest peak that looked down over Marehelm.
The wind howled across the summit, tugging at our hair and coats, as if trying to carry our grief away with it.
I lingered in front of Paula’s gravestone, unable to tear myself away for quite some time.
“Paula, may you find peace here and forever guard the land you died protecting,” I whispered through sobs, placing my hand gently against the cold stone.

Just then, Bryan walked up quietly and laid a comforting hand on my shoulder.
“Makenna, Paula wouldn’t want to see you drowning in grief. We have to turn this pain into strength. Let her memory push us toward justice.”
I lifted my eyes to meet his, a fierce resolve rising in me.
“You’re right. Paula never would’ve wanted us to fall apart. She gave everything so we could keep going. We owe it to her to carry on the fight.”
Drawing a slow breath, I turned my attention back to Paula’s tombstone.
Sunlight caught on her name, making the letters glow faintly—as though carved with something eternal.
With my head bowed, I said each word slowly and clearly.
“Paula, I promise you—we’ll get justice for you.”
I understood that the road ahead would be riddled with hardships, but as long as we stood strong, Leonardo and Antoni would one day pay the price for what they had done.
Makenna’s POV:
Once Paula had been laid to rest, we could finally turn our full attention to the snake in our midst—Manley.
After countless hours poring over details and squeezing the truth out of the captives, we’d gathered solid proof—there was no doubt left. Manley had been feeding intel straight to Antoni.
Antoni, who had already thrown in his lot with the Wizard Clan, had teamed up with Leonardo in a bid to ambush us all in one sweep.
