Chapter 929
It was almost unbelievable. Some of the juniors didn't even recognize Phoebe, once the undisputed goddess of Alnewgo University.
Many seniors couldn't help but enlighten them.
"As freshmen, of course, you wouldn't know her. But let me tell you-Phoebe was the pride of Alnewgo. Back in the day, her name alone was a shining emblem on campus.
"Back then, her piano performances melted the hearts of countless guys. Later, she went abroad to study in Vexburg, leaving many heartbroken. Who would have thought we'd be lucky enough to see her on campus again today?"
Some of the seniors who remembered Phoebe's glory days even teared up at the sight of her return.
She stood at the gates of Alnewgo University. Her presence was even more captivating than before. Instantly, she became the center of everyone's attention. Many pulled out their phones or cameras, eager to capture her radiance.
Phoebe stood quietly, unaffected by the surrounding commotion. She resembled a painting that had come to life-the most captivating sight on campus.
A few bold guys speculated she might be waiting for help with her luggage.
In the short 600 feet it took Jack to walk from across the street to the gates, he saw
at least five young men try to carry her bags. Each one was hopeful, eager for a moment of her attention. Each time, she politely turned them down.
Even from a distance, he could feel their crushed spirits.
Jack couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Even after all these years, Phoebe's return still causes this much of a stir?"
This showed just how popular she had been at Alnewgo University back then.
It reminded him of the freshman gala years ago. Phoebe had appeared alongside Luca, who had since become a renowned music genius. Together, they had quickly captivated the campus, earning the title of Alnewgo University's Golden Dúo.
Later, when Phoebe returned from her exchange program at Brightland, she came back with a mountain of luggage. She had asked Jack for help carrying it.
Three years had passed in the blink of an eye. Yet, here he was again, helping her with her luggage. It felt as if time had rewound.
Lost in thought, he walked toward her when suddenly, Phoebe spotted him. Her calm expression softened into a gentle smile, and she waved at him from afar.
The young men who had been
rejected by Phoebe were already bitter. Seeing her wave at Jack just then added insult to injury. They Couldn't believe their eyes now could such a perfect woman be waiting for a man?
"Who's that guy? He looks pretty plain. What's so special about him?"
"Seriously! How did she ever fall for him? It's like a rose blooming in a pile of manure!"
"I guess even angels fall for mere mortals sometimes."
But someone who knew Jack smirked. "You guys don't know who he is, do you? You're just juniors of course, you've never heard of the legend of this senior."
One of them scoffed. "Oh yeah? What's so great about him?"
The one who knew Jack's legendary story took a breath and spoke. "Let's just say... He's the legend behind the basketball myth buried in Alnewgo University's School Confession's archives. Do you know Isaac and Joshua, the two biggest basketball stars on campus right now, both poised to go pro? They're his protégés."
Hearing this, the expressions of those who had mocked Jack shifted instantly.
The basketball legend, once captured on video, had become an untouchable myth
at Alnewgo University. Meanwhile, Isaac and Joshua, poised to enter the
professional league, were the current legends of the campus.
They never imagined that these two legends were actually his students.
