Chapter 927
After bidding farewell to Neil, Charlotte, and the others, Jack resumed preparations for Haven Net's IPO. He focused on Tarthy City, planning to establish the company's primary operations there.
As time passed, winter quietly arrived. The first semester of senior year was entering its final stretch. Alnewgo had already experienced two heavy snowfalls, covering the city in white.
Isaac and Joshua had also returned from Federia. They planned to enter the domestic professional league draft in the latter half of the year. They were ready to give their all to pursue their dreams.
But another piece of news caught Jack off guard.
He never imagined that Phoebe would be coming back. And not just for a visit-she was returning to prepare for graduate school entrance exams.
Phoebe had told Jack this through the Haven Connect platform.
The fact that she would pursue a master's degree after graduation was hardly surprising. But when she set her sights on Alnewgo University, it took Jack by surprise.
Although Alnewgo University ranked in par, or even higher than, Brightland University internationally, most local students still preferred Brightland. Besides, Phoebe had already studied abroad in Vexburg. Why would she return to pursue an MBA?
Jack couldn't help but recall the year he first learned she was going abroad. The news had left him with a lingering sense of wistfulness.
At the time, he believed Phoebe would settle in Euphoria permanently. He thought she would leave her home country behind for good. Their only means of communication would be occasional chats on social media.
Maybe, if luck was on his side, she'd notify her old classmates whenever she returned for a visit. They could gather for a meal, share stories, and reminisce about their school days.
But more likely than not, even if she did come back, she'd keep a low profile. The chances of her reaching out to former classmates were slim.
Against all odds, Phoebe had chosen to leave Euphoria. Now, she was setting her sights on Alnewgo University.
When Jack read the news on Haven Connect, his heart raced with excitement. He couldn't resist asking when she'd be back.
How long had it been since he'd last seen his dream girl?
Although he occasionally browsed her photos online, nothing compared to the reality of seeing her in person.
Jack wondered if she was still the same. Would she once again emerge from his dreams, warming his days and taking his breath away?
Phoebe told Jack she would arrive at Frostgrade Airport at 2:00 pm the next afternoon. Before taking the graduate entrance exam she wanted to meet with the graduate advisor at Alnewgo University. Such a meeting, she believed, would significantly enhance her chances of admission.
Phoebe's strong academic record made admission to Alnewgo University's graduate program straightforward. However, she knew securing an advisor's approval was crucial, so she left nothing to chance.
Having been away from the
university for some time, she knew
admission wasn't solely based on
grades it also required an advisor
approval. Therefore, she decided to return to Alnewgo University in person.
Jack was thrilled to hear the news, but didn't offer to pick her up from the airport. After all, he already had Feena, and it wouldn't be right to do anything that might cross a line.
That evening, Samuel called Jack to inform him of an upcoming early meeting with domestic investors for Haven Net. If Haven Net was serious
about fisting in Tarthy, this meeting would act as a roadshow to attract investors.
५
For a company to list in Tarthy City, domestic brokers and investment banks play key roles alongside foreign investors. And among the invited institutions, Zenith Alliance was notably included.
The next day, Alnewgo was covered in snow, with a pristine white landscape outside the windows.
At noon, Jack met Isaac and Joshua off-campus for a welcome-back lunch. The two had just returned from special training in Federia.
During the meal, they briefly inquired about Genesis Games. Upon learning that it had been absorbed into Haven Net, they chose not to inquire further.
They understood that the downfall of Genesis Games was a painful chapter for Jack. The fall from grace of a once-celebrated prodigy was a wound not easily healed.
As true friends, they chose not to reopen old wounds, sparing him from more pain.
