Chapter 1349
Chapter 1349:
The soldiers hoisted Clayton’s limp form with rough hands. I lunged toward him, desperation clawing at my chest, but two guards wrenched my arms behind me, their grip unyielding as iron.
“Your Highness…” Antoni ventured, trailing after Colt like a scolded dog.
A single, glacial glare from Colt silenced him mid-breath.
At that moment, the rhythmic thud of boots echoed from the alley’s mouth. The metallic clatter of armor sent faint tremors through the earth, vibrating beneath our feet like a warning pulse.
As we stepped from the alley’s shadows, a formidable battalion stood before us, their ranks an impenetrable wall of steel and resolve.
Colt’s face darkened, a storm brewing in his amber eyes. His voice, sharp as a shard of ice, sliced through the tension. “Who dares block my path?”
The soldiers stood resolute, unflinching as stone.
Then, a familiar figure emerged from their ranks. A faint, calculated smile danced on Lucian’s lips.
He offered Colt a slight bow, his demeanor courteous but unyielding. “Your Highness, I must insist you release Miss Dunn into my custody.”
Colt’s laugh was a cold, brittle thing, his eyes narrowing to dangerous slits. “Lucian, you’re my father’s man. Since when did you become Jett’s errand boy?”
Lucian’s expression remained impassive, his voice steady as a still pond. “I serve the will of His Majesty, whoever he favors.”
Those words were a spark to tinder. Colt’s rage flared, his fists clenching until his knuckles popped like brittle twigs.
“Makenna was caught conspiring with a werewolf prince. That is undeniable. If anyone is to pass judgment, it’s my father—not Jett!”
Colt’s grip on my wrist was a vise, his fingers digging in so fiercely I feared my bones might splinter under the pressure. “I’ll never surrender her to Jett!” he snarled, his voice laced with venom.

Lucian’s eyes turned to frost, glinting with unyielding resolve. With a sharp gesture, he raised his hand and barked, “Halt them!”
In a heartbeat, the alley exploded into pandemonium as the two forces collided. Steel clashed against steel, the air thick with the din of battle.
Colt’s guards, honed to lethal precision, moved like shadows, their blades dancing with deadly grace. Though Lucian’s men fought with fierce determination, their lines began to waver under the onslaught.
“Fall back!”
Lucian’s command cut through the chaos, his voice taut with frustration. His gaze flicked past Colt, locking onto me with a dark, reluctant intensity that lingered like a storm on the horizon.
Colt’s lips curled into a derisive sneer. With a rough tug, he hauled me forward, his long, forceful strides carving a path through the fray. His soldiers trailed behind, dragging Clayton’s limp form like a trophy of war.
We were ushered to a sprawling villa, its grandeur cloaked in shadow. After navigating a maze of dimly lit corridors, we descended into a dank, subterranean dungeon, where the air hung heavy with the scent of mildew and despair.
