Chapter 1335
Chapter 1335:
Clayton’s fist crashed against the nearby wall, blood welling from his torn knuckles. “That scoundrel Jett’s keeping Makenna under lock and key! So it’s true, she is his bride-to-be. What’s our next move?”
“I won’t let Makenna marry him,” I declared, my tone unwavering. If Makenna was to wed anyone, it would be me.
Clayton’s fury ebbed, though his face remained shadowed with worry. “We can’t keep skulking about aimlessly. We need a safe haven first.”
I gave a quiet nod of agreement.
By dusk, we secured lodgings at a modest guesthouse in the city’s southern quarter, settling in to regroup.
That night, as the city slumbered under a blanket of silence, sleep eluded me. Driven by an unyielding need, I slipped out under cover of darkness. Scaling walls and evading vigilant guards, I breached the formidable defenses of the Wizard Clan’s palace.
Bryan’s pov:
I escorted my father back to the werewolves’ palace. As I stepped out of the vehicle, the bodyguards lowered their heads in respect, though their gazes flickered with subtle shock.
My father’s once-pristine silver locks were now tangled, his formerly commanding visage etched with the weight of defeat.
“Your Highness…” The guard commander faltered, his voice trailing into silence.
I shot him an icy stare. “Confine the former king to the cells. I’ll take care of everything else.”
With a curt nod, the commander escorted my father away.
The royal court buzzed with suppressed rivalries and covert plots, but as the eldest prince of the Lycan royal family, my authority held the scheming nobles in check.

I arranged for Winfred to reside in the modest villa once occupied by Makenna. There, Alice and Evie would tend to his needs.
With arrangements settled, I launched a thorough reformation of the court, methodically removing my father’s steadfast allies.
The task consumed sleepless nights, but most nobles, sensing the shifting tides, aligned with me without protest. Yet, Makenna’s absence gnawed at my soul.
That night, I received another letter from Clayton. He wrote that they still hadn’t found any trace of Makenna and planned to infiltrate the Wizard Clan’s frontier territories.
Still nothing…
Frustration surged as I crumpled the paper in my fist.
Two months had passed. We had searched every corner of the continent, but Makenna seemed to have dissolved into nothingness, as though she had never existed.
Despair clawed at my heart. All I could do was pen a reply, pressing Clayton to persist in the search.
Later, I visited Winfred in his quarters. Though asleep at first, my footsteps stirred him, and his wide, luminous eyes met mine, silent and unwavering.
Recognizing me, he stretched out his small hand, clutching mine while murmuring incomprehensible sounds.
Gazing at him, I saw Makenna’s radiant eyes mirrored in his. Her image flooded my mind.
