Chapter 1327
Chapter 1327:
End of Flashback
The hall fell into heavy silence, every pair of eyes fixed on Makenna. Though the potion—the one meant to force a werewolf’s true form to surface—should have faded long ago, she remained firmly human. Only her wide, uneasy eyes betrayed the storm within as she blinked nervously.
“Your Majesty, I urge you to witness this,” I called out, my voice steady and clear. “If she truly were a werewolf, her true form would have been unleashed by now.”
Colt’s face flushed a furious red, his fists clenching so tightly his knuckles looked ready to shatter. “Impossible! This can’t be!” he hissed, venom dripping from every word.
“Enough!” The king’s sharp command sliced through the tension, his clouded eyes flashing with a rare, commanding light. He rubbed his temples, exhaustion etched deep. “Colt, you’ve let me down.”
Colt faltered, struck dumb, lips trembling, but the king silenced him with a single gesture.
Settling back into his throne, the king’s gaze swept slowly between Makenna and me before he waved dismissively. “Enough. Everyone, leave.”
I exhaled quietly, squeezing Makenna’s hand as we turned to go.
“Jett!” The king’s hoarse voice stopped me cold, the weight of his words cutting like a sharpened blade.
I froze, reluctant to meet his gaze.
“You are the second prince of the Wizard Clan.” His tone carried no room for defiance. “Your future bride must come from the noble bloodlines of this clan.” He paused, his voice laced with undisguised contempt. “Not… a woman of questionable heritage.”
Makenna’s hand trembled fiercely in mine. I tightened my hold, feeling the frantic beat of her pulse under my fingertips. The very air thickened, pressing down on us like a suffocating weight.

Colt’s cruel, triumphant laughter shattered the silence, echoing bitterly through the charged hall.
Makenna’s POV:
The king’s words pierced me like a winter’s chill, slicing through my heart with ruthless precision.
Instinctively, I tried to withdraw my hand, but Jett’s grasp tightened, unyielding. His palm radiated such fierce warmth it seemed to sear my skin.
“I will wed no one but her,” Jett proclaimed, his voice unwavering, resounding through the opulent hall like a clarion call.
Before the king could muster a reply, Jett whisked me away, his strides purposeful as we exited the hall. The heavy doors thudded shut behind us, muffling the king’s harsh, wracking coughs.
“Jett, you’re quite the bold one, aren’t you?” Colt’s icy tone slithered from the shadows of a stone column.
He lounged against it with casual arrogance, while Antoni stood rigidly behind him, his expression clouded with disdain.
“Do you truly believe you can sustain such a grand charade, Jett?” Colt advanced slowly, each word dripping with menace. “Her true identity may be veiled for now, but secrets don’t stay buried forever.”
“Hold your tongue!” Jett snapped, swatting Colt’s hand aside and stepping protectively in front of me.
