Chapter 1326:

“Do it,” the king commanded with a tired wave of his hand.

Lucian strode forward, uncorking the vial with a snap. A bitter, acrid stench wafted into the air, sharp enough to sting the back of my throat. He tilted the vial, and the liquid splashed onto Antoni’s skin.

My heart was thrumming so hard the pulse roared in my ears. I shut my eyes, preparing for the same cold burn on my own skin.

But nothing happened when the drops hit me.

“AAAHHH!”

Antoni’s scream cleaved the air. His body convulsed, bones cracking as his spine arched unnaturally. His iron arm detached and clattered away. Dark gray fur burst from beneath his skin, spreading like leaflets in the wind. His mouth stretched into a twisted muzzle, fangs gleaming wetly.

Within seconds, the man was gone. Where he had stood now crouched a massive gray wolf, snarling with feral rage, eyes blazing as it bared its teeth at the room full of stunned faces.

Jett’s POV:

Antoni writhed in agony as the potion took hold, his skin tearing apart as dark gray fur erupted violently.

The king recoiled in horror, his gnarled fingers clenching the throne’s armrests so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

“This potion… it actually works!” His voice trembled, disbelief thick in the air.

All eyes shifted toward Makenna, breaths caught in their throats, waiting for her own truth to be revealed. But she remained still, dazed and frozen.

Flashback:

Not long ago, I had finished my official duties and returned to the villa. Before I reached the gates, a panicked servant rushed out. “Prince Jett! Miss Dunn has been taken by Prince Colt. They say… she’s one of the werewolves, the Saint of the white wolf clan.”

My heart plummeted instantly. Colt had played his hand masterfully, using the king as a pawn to dispose of Makenna, twisting this matter into a wedge of suspicion between the king and me. A cunning stroke.

Suddenly, an idea flared in my mind like lightning. Without a second thought, I stormed into the villa and made straight for my laboratory.

Shelves groaned beneath countless bottles and jars, their contents glimmering like fragments of starlight. My fingers flew over the labels until they stopped on a deep purple vial—a suppressant potion I had crafted myself, designed to temporarily lock away a werewolf’s true nature.

There was no time to waste. I seized the bottle and dashed out, heading straight for the grand hall.

“Your Highness, His Majesty is interrogating a werewolf spy inside. Entry is forbidden.” The soldiers barred my way at the doors.

But the thought of Makenna in danger burned away all hesitation. Summoning every ounce of defiance, I forced my way past them and burst into the hall.

The doors slammed open, revealing Makenna kneeling in the center, restrained by two soldiers.

A fire ignited in my chest, blinding me with righteous fury. I charged forward, sending the guards sprawling, then steadied Makenna to her feet. Subtly, I tipped the suppressant potion from my sleeve.

“Are you hurt?” I whispered in her ear as the cold liquid slid down the back of her neck, disappearing beneath her collar.
