Chapter 1301
Chapter 1301:
No! I had to save myself!
In my panic, my fingers brushed against a rough, jagged stone. Fueled by raw survival instinct, I gripped it tightly and swung it with all my might at Brice’s temple.
Thud!
The sickening sound of impact mingled with the wet tear of flesh. Warm, sticky blood splattered across my face as Brice squealed like a wounded animal, clutching his bleeding forehead and staggering back.
“You filthy bitch!” he bellowed, his hold on me weakening.
Seizing the moment, I drove my knee into his groin with every ounce of strength I had. As he crumpled in agony, I scrambled to my feet and fled. The jagged gravel beneath tore into my soles, leaving them raw and bloodied.
Each step felt like treading on knives, but I couldn’t stop.
“Help! Somebody help me!”
The wind roared in my ears, and branches lashed my face, leaving stinging cuts. I gasped for breath, the taste of blood thick in my throat.
But the heavy pounding of footsteps closed in behind me.
“Help! Is anybody—”
My plea was cut short.
A rough hand yanked my hair, dragging me into the nearby underbrush. My back slammed against a tree trunk, pain radiating through my body.
“Nowhere to run now, you little bitch!”
Brice’s face was a twisted mask of blood and rage, his crimson-stained fingers tightening around my throat.
I kicked and clawed desperately, my nails tearing fresh wounds across his face.

A sharp chill hit my neck as the necklace I always wore was ripped away. My heart plummeted.
“My necklace!”
That pendant was my only proof of who I was. I lunged at him like a feral creature.
Brice smirked, dangling the necklace tauntingly above me. “Want it back? Beg for it!”
Taking advantage of his smugness, I sank my teeth into his wrist, the coppery taste of blood flooding my mouth.
“Argh!” Brice howled, releasing my hair as the necklace fell to the ground. I broke free, but before I could escape, he kicked the back of my knee, sending me crashing down.
Just as despair took hold, the necklace on the ground erupted with a blinding white light, searing into Brice’s eyes.
“Ah! My eyes!” he shrieked, clutching his face as he stumbled backward.
The light was brilliant, yet it didn’t hurt my eyes at all. Seizing the chance, I dove for the necklace, grabbed it, and fastened it back around my neck. Without hesitation, I turned and ran.
“You won’t escape, you bitch!” Brice’s furious shouts echoed behind me, but the blinding light left him flailing aimlessly.
I stumbled out of the forest, my shredded dress catching on thorns and tearing into rags. My feet, now a bloody mess, burned with every step as if I were walking on embers.
