Chapter 1272
Chapter 1272:
The whole werewolf cemetery crumbled beneath its weight, with massive stones crashing down one after another and raising up a storm of dust. I watched from a safe distance as the heavy stone door sealed Makenna and Dominic inside the collapsing cemetery.
I threw back my head and let out a gleeful laugh. “Makenna Dunn, you’ve finally…”
Suddenly, an arrow sliced through the air and pierced my right shoulder. I staggered back in shock as blood leaked from the wound.
As though in a daze, I turned toward the direction the arrow came from. It was then I saw Bryan with a group of elite soldiers. They began surrounding me and the wizard soldiers as I watched on.
“Long time no see, Antoni. How’s your left arm?” Bryan said, his eyes gleaming dangerously.
Bryan’s mention of my lost left arm sent a surge of rage through me that snapped me out of my daze.
I gritted my teeth as I yanked the arrow out of my shoulder. In that moment, excruciating pain spread over my right shoulder, and I nearly howled from the agony.
Blood flowed down my shoulder, soaking my robe, but I didn’t seem to notice. Feigning indifference to the pain, I threw the arrow to the ground and said, “Instead of wasting your time with me, Bryan, you should send your men to rescue your brother and your precious woman. They’re trapped underneath the werewolf cemetery as I speak. Who knows, they might already be dead, crushed into a pulp.”
Bryan’s smile froze on his face, and his jaw tensed.
The look on his face brought me a great deal of satisfaction. Intending to twist the metaphorical knife even more, I continued, “Do you want me to tell you exactly where they’re trapped? They’re right at the end of the main passage behind the stone door.”
“Shut up!” Bryan screamed, his eyes bloodshot.

A murderous look on his face, he unsheathed his sword and leveled it at my throat.
“You’ll pay for this with your life.”
With that, he charged at me with his soldiers. My soldiers and his clashed, and soon the whole place had devolved into a chaotic battleground.
Still clutching my bleeding shoulder, I began to retreat.
Suddenly, there was a thunderous boom at the werewolf cemetery.
I turned to see what had caused such a loud noise. The sight that greeted me was that of a blinding white light shattering the heavy stone door and reducing it to dust.
Soon the dust settled, and I saw two figures slowly emerge.
It was Makenna and Dominic. They both appeared unscathed. Makenna stood atop the ruins, her long hair billowing in the breeze, and the scepter glowing radiantly in her hand.
“This… this can’t be!” I exclaimed, my disbelief palpable. “They were supposed to be buried underneath the rubble. How are they still alive?”
I watched the unfolding scene in horror. Then I began to bark orders at my soldiers. “Kill her!”
The wizard soldiers charged at her, only to be stopped by Bryan and his men, who fought them off.
The tide of battle began to shift as my men started to falter.
