Chapter 924

That was impossible.

Wilhelmina was proud and had her doubts about Jack. But she respected

strength, especially in those who could protect her. Otherwise, she wouldn't have fallen head over heels for the man. He wouldn't have left such a lasting

impression.

It seemed, though, that the change in perspective on Jack was too late. The

hatred between them ran too deep, leaving little hope for reconciliation.

As the bodyguards froze in shock, Jack strode straight up to Nelson, grabbing him by the collar with an icy smirk.

"Feeling pretty proud with your little army here, are you?"

"W-What do you think you're doing?" Nelson stammered, trembling in fear.

Jack tightened his grip around Nelson's throat and slapped him-hard-over and

over.

Soon after, Nelson's face was so swollen it looked like a puffy roll.

"Hurry up! What are you idiots just standing around for? Are you going to let Mr. Cadwallader get beaten to a pulp?" a lackey shrieked from the back, urging the bodyguards forward while cowering himself.

He didn't have the guts to face Jack himself, so all he could do was egg the bodyguards on, sending them to their demise.

Just as the remaining bodyguards were about to charge in, police sirens blared in the distance. The officers had finally arrived.

Any later, and given the level of hostility, someone might have ended up dead or severely injured.

"What the hell is going on here? What's with the fighting? You wanna end up in jail tonight?" a middle-aged officer barked, momentarily silencing the crowd.

Jack gave Nelson one last kick, sending him sprawling.

Seeing the police, he scrambled toward them like a drowning man grasping at a lifeline.

"Officer, help me! These thugs-they were trying to kill us! You have to arrest them and make them pay!"

The officer didn't react immediately. But when he saw Neil, Zane, and the others, a flicker of recognition crossed his face. It was as if he knew exactly who these young men were.

Still, he kept his composure and continued to follow proper procedure.

"Alright," the middle-aged officer said sternly. "What really happened here? Give me the details."

The officer noticed that Nelson's face was bruised and swollen-clearly the worst off. So he let him speak first.

Nelson began gesturing wildly.

"Officer, my name is Nelson

Cadwallader. My father is Gerard

Cadwallader, a wealthy

businessman from Sandover 1

came to Alnewgo just to have some fun, and this is what I get?

"Look at this place-what kind of security is this? It was them! They attacked me and even threatened to kill us! Look at my face! You'd better make them pay or I swear I'll fash your name all overthe Sandover, forums!"

Nelson seemed to be rambling. He was probably trying to pull some strings, even bringing up his father's name. What was worse, he actually dared to threaten the police.

The middle-aged officer frowned. Regardless of who was at fault, Nelson's entitled attitude was grating.

Jack and his friends had no idea who Gerard was, but Myra's expression shifted in recognition.

"The Cadwalladers of Sandover... They're one of the wealthiest families. Along with the Dodgers, they're known as the Twin Titans of Sandover."

No wonder Nelson could stay close to someone like Wilhelmina. With the kind of powerful backing he had, it was no surprise he acted so arrogantly.

"Alright, tell me what happened." The officer turned to Neil, who looked seriously injured.

Before Neil could speak, Nelson flailed his arms and shouted, "Why do you need to ask? Are you blind? Look at me! Of course it was these bastards!"

His outburst was downright rude. The officer's expression darkened.

"Rest assured, we enforce the law fairly. Now, please stay quiet while I take statements."

Then, he looked at Neil again. "So, what really happened?"

Neil answered, "Officer, here's the thing. Earlier, we beat them in a game at the internet café upstairs They couldn't take the less, and pow they've sent some bodyguards to rough us up."
