Chapter 907
They chatted for a long time. It was not until Charlotte asked them to come downstairs for food that Jack and Jason went downstairs.
Although Jack didn't explicitly express where Haven Net would go public, it didn't matter.
Jason had already expressed his opinions to Jack from a personal perspective and the country's perspective.
Though it may sound slightly exaggerated to escalate matters to this level, it reflected the nation's trust and high regard for a company as remarkable as Haven Net. Jason was confident Jack would give this matter serious thought. When Jack and Jason took their seats, Neil, Zane, Leo, and the rest looked at Jack oddly as if they were meeting him for the first time.
In reality, questions filled the hearts of everyone present. It was interesting enough that Jason wanted to discuss something with Jack, but it felt even more odd when the conversation lasted a few hours.
Judging by the smiles on their faces when they came out, the two seemed to have hit it off quite well. However, Neil and the others couldn't understand what Jason, an uptight stickler, and a young man had in common to talk about so happily.
It was strikingly different from his usual stern demeanor; it was almost unrecognizable.
Jason maintained his authority as an older person in front of the younger generation. Though he didn't speak to Jack as an equal, he still couldn't help but offer a word of guidance.
"Neil, Char, both of you should learn from Jack. He has many admirable qualities worth emulating. Jack, Charles and I are relieved to leave this bunch to you. Please take care of them."
Neil and Zane nodded awkwardly. Although they were prideful by nature and reluctant to learn from others easily, they couldn't deny that Jack had qualities worthy of respect.
Whether it was gaming, basketball, tennis, or any other skills, Jack had an undeniable advantage over them. What truly earned their recognition was that this all-rounder also excelled academically. He was the top scholar in the state in the national college entrance examinations.
Even their pride had to take a step back in the face of someone so remarkable.
But Jack had reservations. After all, everyone here was from wealthy and influential families. They were prideful in their own right.
However, Jack's concerns held no weight. Neil, Zane, and especially Leo, were in awe of him.
Mona had once spoken ill of Jack behind his back, mocking him for being a poor nobody fantasizing about climbing the social ladder and trying to punch above his weight. However, ever since witnessing Jack's true strength, that thought had never dared resurface.
It was late after dinner. Jason knew Jack was closer to Neil and Charlotte, so he allowed the group to hang out with Jack freely. After dinner, the group chatted in the yard.
Neil draped his arm around Jack's shoulder, impersonating Jason's tone, saying, "Jack, please take care of them from now on. Haha! Jack, I cant believe this! What did you do to my dad for him to trust your so much?"
Jack didn't tell him the truth. Instead, he smiled and said, "Perhaps he changed
his impression of me after I helped him the previous time."
"Don't be so modest. I know my dad like the back of my hand. He would never bat an eye at anyone who lacked capability. None of us really had what it takes to impress him but now that he has said it himself, he's at ease as long as we're with you."
Neil continued with a laugh, "This means we can use you as our shield when we
pull all-nighters gaming. Don't you dare disappear on us!"
Jack could only let out a helpless smile, knowing Neil was already scheming.
Zane added, "I've been cooped up in this compound for too long. Finally, I can
play without guilt. From now on, our entertainment is in your hands!"
It seemed like Zane and Neil had made up their minds to cling to Jack.
