Chapter 898

Since Haven Net was not yet a public-listed company, the state of its organization as well as other information were not readily available to the public. As a result, Quintis and Emily would never have guessed that Haven Net was actually one of Jack's businesses.

What shocked Emily and Quintis the most was how Jack appeared to be completely unaffected. He was in good spirits, and his appetite was never better. He accepted all the food that Emily delivered to him, behaving as if the issue with Genesis Games did not trouble him in the slightest.

Although the couple was puzzled by his behavior, they were also relieved that Jack was able to look at the bright side of things. As long as he himself remained strong and maintained his confidence, with Jack's talents, there was no doubt that he would rise from the ashes once again.

Quintis even invited Jack to participate in the internal affairs of the Sandalwood Group with the intention to train him as his successor, but his suggestion was shot down by Jack.

Jack was busy preparing for Haven Net's impending transition into a public-listed company. On top of that, he also had to oversee the company's continuous expansion. He was already buried to the elbows in work that was related to Haven Net, so there was no reason for him to spread himself thinner and get involved with Sandalwood Group's business as well.

After receiving several calls and invitations from Jason, Jack finally decided to make his way over to Grant Tower to meet with the mayor of Alnewgo.

Jason, on the other hand, was immensely pleased to discover that Jack had willingly made time in his busy schedule to meet with him. Although he held a high-ranking position, he didn't dare flex his authority in front of Jack.

After all, Jack was the founder of Haven Net, a company that was projected to be worth trillions of dollars. Not only that, but he also had several leaders of Afrona at his beck and call. All these undeniable truths were enough for Jason to treat Jack as an equal.

It wasn't Jack's first time visiting Grant Estate. He had dropped by the first time after being invited by Neil and Zane, and he had even been denied entry by the security guard at the time. What surprised him the most was how Charlotte was still the one who came to welcome him into the estate.

Apparently, Jason was stuck in an important meeting that had been organized at the last minute. However, the meeting shouldn't last too long, so Jack was invited into his home to wait for him. Coincidentally, Charlotte had been home at the time, so Jason had tasked her with the job of ushering Jack into their home.

Confusion was written all over Charlotte's face when she laid eyes on Jack. It was hard for her to believe that Jason was the one who had invited Jack as a guest into their home. She only knew that Jack had once made a phone call out of the blue that ultimately aided Frank to survive in Afrona that had beer embroiled in a fierce conflict at the time.

She had heard that Jack's phone call had even surprised the leader of Afrona. Till this day, she couldn't understand how Jack-a man who hailed from the tiny Perthter City, a man who had once surprised her had managed to amass so much power, to the point that he was able to help Frank during such a critical moment.

Jack had left a deep impression upon Charlotte ever since that day. It was difficult

to imagine what type of common ground Jason, who was strict with his children and behaved in an old-fashioned manner, could possibly have with Jack. She wondered what sort of conversations they would have.

Furthermore, from the way Jack was welcomed into their home, Charlotte guessed that Jason treated Jack as an equal. It was simply unimaginable to her. "When did you become close with Dad?" Charlotte asked, her eyes widened in curiosity.

She gave Jack a onceover, wanting to discover what part of him had captured Jason's attention.

Naturally, Jack wasn't going to tell her the truth. He said helplessly, "Perhaps Mr. Grant thinks that I'm not too shabby of a person?"

Charlotte rolled her eyes at him after taking in his lazy appearance. "Dream on!"

A smile broke across her face in the next moment before she exclaimed, "Coincidentally, Neil and Zane have gone out to meet with some friends. Since you're here, you can accompany me!"
