Bella kept a professional smile, but confusion surged in her heart as she entered the conference hall. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ Fɪnd-Novel.net

There were too many people, so she had to walk to the front to clearly see who the man on the stage was-it was him.

Bella quietly asked the guy beside him who the person on the stage was.

Until now, Bella was still unclear what role Jack held, standing up there on that stage.

The guy looked at her in surprise. Then, he asked, "Don't you know? He's the founder of Genesis Games, Jack Holland! Why are you here if you don't know who he is?"

Few guys ever spoke to Bella in that tone. However, to be fair, from the guy's perspective, she did come off somewhat naive. Not that Bella cared about any of that at the moment.

Although she never knew who the founder of Genesis Games was, she knew a thing or two about the legacy Genesis Games had created, the story behind its development, and how it had taken the world by storm.

After all, her roommates, Francesca and Bethany, were huge fans of these games. They had always thought the man behind Genesis Games was a genius.

She never thought all of these were Jack's doing.

Bella couldn't help but recall one of the letters she had written to Jack. In the letter, she had said, "At the end of the day, you and I are common folk. How much courage and strength would it take us to break through all those obstacles to end up together?"

She had always believed Jack was capable, but she had never imagined he could bring such a sweeping change.

Now, not only was he changing himself and others, he was changing the world.

Bella had once hoped that Jack would appear like a hero when they met again, riding in on a majestic steed, sweeping in gloriously like in a fairytale.

However, when the two of them finally met, Jack merely held a bouquet of morning glories he picked from the roadside in his hand. Although he was still tall and handsome as she remembered, his presence seemed to be missing something in this materialistic world.

Bella never despised who Jack was because Jack had once proved that he was not an ordinary guy at Alnewgo University. Only she had never imagined he could be great enough to defy convention, change the world, and rewrite fate himself.

When she saw how Jack eloquently spoke while the audience gawked at him with admiration, Bella realized she was wrong.

She should have believed Jack because he was a boy who had the ability to do the impossible. It was more appropriate to call him a man now. He had already grown into a man who could stand tall and shoulder the world.

She should have started believing him. However, perhaps she had never really believed in him. Otherwise, why would she leave behind what had seemed to be a farewell letter and leave?

It was her mother's dominance that had caused her weakness, yet she felt powerless and too afraid to break free from these shackles.

Tears welled up in Bella's eyes, but she stubbornly forced them back down. Francesca and Bethany saw Bella from a distance and waved at her.

Jack, who occasionally made students chuckle, also noticed her. He continued to talk and laugh, but his gaze was fixed on her, revealing a hint of indifference.

Bella rarely lowered her head. Her heart raced as she walked toward where Francesca and Bethany were, squeezing between them.

At this moment, Jack was undoubtedly the centre of everyone's attention. Every word he said and every move he made was like a mesmerizing spell, captivating every inch of Bella.

Bethany tugged Bella's sleeve and softly complained, "Bella, you've kept this a secret! I thought your boyfriend wasn't as good as Hugo. But now, I take back what I said. Your boyfriend is impressive. Hugo is nowhere near him."

Francesca nodded hard. Then, she said jokingly, "After you rejected Hugo, I tossed and turned on my bed and couldn't figure out why you would reject Hugo and do whatever it took to get together with this insignificant person. Now, I finally understand why."
