Chapter 598
All good things eventually came to an end. It was time for the banquet to wrap up. After dinner was over, Jack and Alexi left Lakeside Hotel together. Alexi was accompanied by a few of his former classmates, one of them being Clarice.
Alexi said to Jack, "Little Holland, when are you traveling to New Vork? Let's meet up when the time comes."
Alexi was already in the know regarding the news of Genesis Games becoming a public-listed company. He knew that it was only a matter of time before it happened.
"I might depart tomorrow," Jack answered. "Everything has been arranged on that side." This content belongs to find·novel·net
"So soon?" Alexi said in surprise. "I still have to stay in Alnewgo for the next few days."
Jack nodded in response. "Claude is very efficient."
Alexi smiled. "Alright then, I won't be able to accompany you to New Vork. However, I still wish Genesis Games success!"
"Thank you," Jack replied, genuinely accepting Alexi's well-wishes.
Jack then finally shifted his gaze toward Clarice, who was standing to the side. She had a smile on her face and still carried herself elegantly, making it difficult for Jack to tell what she was thinking in her heart.
After he was done speaking with Alexi, Jack fixed a smile on his face and asked the question that he had been carrying around in his heart. "Mrs. Cole, I'd like to ask about Bella's whereabouts. Did she really transfer schools?"
Clarice nodded. "Yes, she has left Alnewgo University."
Clarice felt like there were storms raging in her heart when she looked at Jack. Although he had achieved considerable success, she still shook her head. "Jack, I admit that I might have judged you too harshly. Your achievements have far exceeded my expectations. However, can you please leave Bella alone? You have dreams, and so does Bella. If fate allows it, the two of you will meet again."
If Clarice had run into Jack before today, she would have told him directly that it was impossible for the two of them to have a relationship. The distance that separated them couldn't be crossed through hard work alone. It was as wide as the Milky Way.
However, she also had to acknowledge Jack's talents and capabilities. She used to think the distance between them was as wide as the Milky Way, but the distance was shortened now thanks to Jack's efforts.
Later that night when Jack returned to the dorm, he found Isaac, Joshua, and Ronnie engrossed in a heated discussion regarding the centennial celebration as they lay on their beds. The ladies from the Fellowship Dormitory were also present.
When they noticed Jack's arrival, the atmosphere in the dorm suddenly hit a boiling point. Isaac couldn't help but tease in a sardonic tone, "Look who's here! The big boss of our class is back!"
After all, no one actually believed that Jack was a "big boss". It would be a story that was straight out of a fairytale. They had discussed amongst themselves after returning to the dorm and came to the unanimous conclusion that the misunderstanding had all started when Jack first received the invitation.
Jack only laughed at Isaac's teasing and didn't say anything else. He suddenly felt hungry. Although he had eaten during the dinner banquet, the dishes weren't enough to keep his belly filled. He went downstairs to look for more food.
Queenie said, "Jack sure has some thick skin! He didn't even try to defend himself when Isaac was teasing him. Does he really think of himself as a boss?"
Anya pursed her lips together before breaking into a laugh, "If it was me, I would also enjoy being complimented by others. It must feel so good! "
Miranda shook her head. "I feel like Jack was a little embarrassed."
