Chapter 595
The alumni followed George to have dinner at the luxurious Lakeside Hotel that was located on the campus grounds. They were joined by the teachers and counselors of Alnewgo University, as well as the student council and Entrepreneur Association members who had worked hard to maintain order during the
celebration.
Clarice and Jack accompanied Alexi on either side of him. Clarice still hadn't found an opportunity to question Alexi regarding Jack's eligibility to participate in the centennial celebration. She also hadn't spoken a word to Jack since Alexi was always between them.
The large party moved as one toward the Lakeside Hotel. Along the way, Jack received a call from Claude. He had great news for Jack-due to Genesis Games' spectacular results in their third quarter finance report, Masdaq had approved all their applications.
Their next step was to invite Jack, Claude, and a team of their elite staff to prepare a variety of different reports, after which they would embark on a global roadshow. They would officially enter the final stages of preparation to turn Genesis into a public-listed company.
The importance of the roadshow cannot be stressed enough as it would directly affect the market value of Genesis once it was a public-listed company. Timing was of the essence, so Claude had already booked a plane ticket for Jack. The flight would depart for Federia the next morning. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ fіndnovel.net
Jack's heart overflowed with gratitude after he ended the call with Claude. He had been waiting for this moment for much too long, and it was finally within his grasp.
His eyes couldn't help but stray toward Clarice, who was only a short distance away. She was the one who had torn Bella away from him, and she was also the driving force behind Jack's determination to turn Genesis into a public-listed company.
Clarice didn't notice Jack's gaze on her. She continued to exchange pleasantries with her former classmates, pretending as if the conflict between Jack and herself didn't exist.
The party finally made it to Lakeside Hotel. The hotel was illuminated by the bright lights that were blazing within, which lent to its festive and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel manager, Raydon, stood at the hotel's entrance and personally welcomed all who entered the building with a dazzling smile on his face.
Jack, Alexi, and Clarice were seated at the same table during the dinner banquet. George and the other school administrators were seated at the table next to theirs. The university teachers sat at a table that was near Jack. Amongst them was his homeroom teacher, Uriah, as well as the president of the Entrepreneurs Association, Hannah.
As he gazed at Uriah, Jack began to wonder how he would approach him this time to request for a leave of absence. After all, he would be gone for quite a long time if he was to participate in the global roadshow that would kick off in New Vork. He also needed to be present for the bell-ringing when Genesis officially entered the Masdaq Stock Exchange as a public-listed company.
Jack felt a little awkward as he recalled the frequency in which he had been requesting for leave from Uriah, along with the displeased look he would wear whenever Jack approached him. After all, Jack hadn't contributed much to his class. He wasn't part of any clubs, didn't apply for scholarships, or participate in class activities.
On the contrary, he was always involved in fights, skipped class often, and frequently requested for leave. It was reasonable that Uriah disliked him.
Uriah had a strong impression of Jack. He still believed it was mere coincidence that Jack had received an invitation, and that he had only tagged along with the group to enjoy a free meal with them. However, Uriah had no intention to expose Jack. After all, reputation was important to a student.
What puzzled Uriah the most was how unbothered Jack seemed as he joined the dinner banquet. Was he not afraid of being exposed? His fearless attitude was impressive to say the least.
The dinner banquet officially started after George gave a short celebratory speech. The atmosphere remained lively throughout the banquet as everyone engaged in conversation with each other. Everyone present was a leader or a reputable figure in their respective fields. The guests would have even more things to talk about if they were former schoolmates who hadn't seen each other in years.
The centennial celebration had provided the perfect platform for them to gather around and discuss the endless possibilities that the future held. Meanwhile, George rose to his feet and took the initiative to give a toast to everyone who was present.
Seeing how George was personally toasting them, the guests also rose to their feet. It didn't matter where they were seated, or how precious their reputation was, they raised their glasses at George in return.
