Chapter 1064
Mavis quickly chimed in, "Jack, you must come!"
Jack nodded in agreement. Next, Trent turned to Wilhelmina.
"Wilhelmina, come say goodbye to Jack. Don't forget your manners."
Wilhelmina lifted her head slightly, her gaze deep and unreadable as she looked at Jack. He couldn't discern anything from her expression, nor could he guess what she was truly thinking.
In the end, Wilhelmina said nothing. She simply lowered her head again, making no move to invite Jack to visit.
Jack smiled, trying to ease the awkwardness. "Please don't make things difficult for her. If I have the chance, I'll be sure to visit you in the future."
Trent decided to drop the matter and chatted with Quintis instead.
As the Dodger family prepared to depart, Jack kept signaling Wilhelmina with his eyes, urging her to bring up the annulment of their engagement. This way, both Wilhelmina and Jack could be at ease.
The mistake Jack made toward her today could be written off, and from then on, they would have nothing more to do with each other.
Wilhelmina was exceptionally clever. She understood Jack's intentions from his expression. She pursed her lips gently, but still didn't speak.
Jack waited for a long time, but Wilhelmina only moved her lips without making a sound. Her gaze flickered, her expression distant, as if lost in thought. Was she still considering how to get back at him?
Seeing Wilhelmina's hesitation, Trent couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? Is there something you want to say?"
Wilhelmina bit her lip, struggling inwardly. Jack guessed that Wilhelmina was probably holding back from talking about the annulment because Quintis and Emily were present.
After all, saying such a thing now would disrupt everyone. No matter how close Quintis and Trent were, something like this could easily ruin their relationship for good. Perhaps that was exactly why Wilhelmina remained silent.
So, Jack decided to play the "bad guy" himself. Besides, Wilhelmina already harbored resentment toward him, so it made sense for him to be the one to bring up ending the engagement. One way or another today was the day to finally put an end to this ill-fated relationship between himself and Wilhelmina.
"Mr. and Mrs, Dodger, I spoke with Wilhelmina earlier, and now I'd like to
discuss something with you

formally Jack began, his words. drawing the attention of everyone nearby. "We've talked it over and decided to officially call off the engagement."
"What?" the Dodgers and Lycans exclaimed in shock, their eyes wide with disbelief.
This wouldn't have been surprising if Wilhelmina had said that. After all, she'd made her feelings clear from the start. But hearing it from Jack caught everyone off guard.
Wilhelmina trembled slightly. She bowed her head, lost in her own thoughts.
Trent couldn't help but press further, "Jack, why would you say that? Don't you like Wilhelmina? Or is she forcing you? Listen, Wilhelmina is your fiancee and Maxis and I have been making preparations fory wedding. Don't let Wilhelmina's attitude weigh on your mind."
