Chapter 1031

Who would've thought even Elias would be here!

The guests began whispering among themselves.

Felix's jaw dropped-clearly shocked. Judging by their expressions, it seemed Jack and Elias knew each other. If so, then things were about to go south-fast. After all, Elias was someone Felix would never dare to cross!

The security guard quickly put on a polite smile. "Mr. Carpenter, is he... a friend of yours?"

Elias glanced at Jack and nodded. "He is."

At that moment, Felix's face turned ashen.

To him, Jack and Elias belonged to completely different worlds—how could they possibly know each other?

The guard hurriedly said, "Well then, Mr. Carpenter. If he's your friend, then this was all a misunderstanding! Though... we haven't seen this gentleman before."

Elias was undoubtedly one of the most distinguished figures at the gala. He commanded the same respect as the kingpin of Tarthy. Compared to him, Felix was nothing more than a nobody!

With a faint smile, Elias added, "The Lycans of the Sandalwood Group-you should know them."

The guards might not have recognized Jack, but Sandalwood Group? That was a global corporate giant, impossible to ignore in Tarthy City.

Immediately, the guard bowed apologetically. "Forgive me, sir, for any unintended offense. I hope you'll bear with me."

No one mentioned how Jack had brutally beaten Felix.

The security guards were just ordinary men who knew how to curry favor with the powerful.

To men like Elias or Jack, Felix was utterly insignificant-easily crushed, and frankly, they wouldn't have cared.

Felix trembled in shock.

He couldn't believe Jack was the heir to the Sandalwood Group. Wasn't that supposed to be Tristan? He was a towering figure, meant to be admired—not someone a nobody like Jack could ever match.

Desperate he clutched a guard's and shouted, "Get your facts

straight! These thugs attackened

first Arrest them, or Mr. Trevell will

make you pay!"

Felix, aware of his own lack of sway, tried dropping Peter's name.

However, the security guards weren't buying it.

They already had little respect for Felix, and name-dropping Peter only made him more irritating. Besides the hotel belonged to the Carpenters their paychecks came from them. They were just doing their job, and no one could fault them for following the rules.

Instead of arresting Jack, they yanked Felix up.

"Mr. Chambers, the surveillance clearly shows you threw the first punch. We'll need you to come with us."

Felix froze for a second, then thrashed against the guards' grip. "Let me go! Why are you arresting me instead of them? What the hell?"

The head of security kicked him twice in the gut, then hauled him away like a rag doll.

From a distance, Patrick and the others watched, their faces dark with anger. Seeing Felix hauled off by Elias' men felt like a slap in the face.

Peter snapped, "Let's go after them. How dare they touch one of ours!"

Devin, at his side, added, "They're in the right—picking a fight now would just make us look bad."

Patrick held Peter back. "Leave it. We'll deal with them later."

He knew full well it was Felix who had started the fight. Stirring up trouble now

would only drag his own name through the mud.
