Before finishing his outburst, Bryan whirled around and stormed toward the door, clearly intent on confronting Antoni directly.
Clayton, ever perceptive and quick to act, stepped forward in one fluid motion. He gripped Bryan’s arm firmly and spoke with measured calm.
“Don’t act impulsively.”
Turning his attention to me, Clayton asked cautiously,
“Makenna, Antoni is cunning. Is it possible he’s deceiving you?”
Bryan and Dominic exchanged thoughtful glances upon hearing this suggestion. At that moment, Jett advanced slowly into our circle, a knowing smile playing at the corners of his lips.
“Actually,” he said with unnerving calm, “I’ve known for some time that Winfred is her child.”
He paused dramatically, his gaze sweeping across everyone’s faces before continuing.
“I noticed a magic potion on Winfred that appeared to mask his link to his parents. So yes, Winfred is indeed her child.”
Bryan’s anger erupted instantly at this revelation.
“Then why didn’t you tell us sooner?” he demanded, his voice sharp with accusation.
Jett merely scoffed, his demeanor radiating defiance.
“Why should I tell you? Don’t forget, we’re enemies.”
“You—” Bryan found himself speechless, managing only an angry snort before turning to me. His expression was complex—simultaneously reproachful and hopeful.
“And you? Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

Bryan’s handsome features tightened with conflict, his expression a complex blend of elation at the revelation and underlying concern. After a weighted silence, he finally broke the tension.
“Where is the child now? Has Antoni already taken him away?”
I shook my head with deliberate calmness, keeping my voice level.
“If the child had truly fallen into Antoni’s possession, knowing his character, he wouldn’t hesitate to flaunt it. He would use my own child to threaten and torment me at every opportunity.”
As the words left my lips, I mentally pieced together the available clues.
“So I believe the child is most likely with Alice and Evie, which means he should be safe for now.”
Relief visibly washed over Bryan as he exhaled deeply. His expression hardened with resolve.
“I’ll dispatch search parties immediately. We need to locate Evie and Alice as quickly as possible and guarantee their safety. You have my word.”
With that declaration, he was about to go organize the necessary personnel.
I acknowledged his promise with a nod but stopped him from leaving immediately. Then, I shifted my attention to Evelyn, who continued trembling on the floor. My voice took on a steely edge.
