Chapter 802:

I knew her feelings for me all too well and had no qualms about dangling her emotions like a marionette on a string, manipulating her to serve my whims.

With a slight lift of my chin, I allowed my eyes to flick over her in mock concern before addressing her. “Evelyn, how have you been? Have you managed to win a prince’s favor yet?”

Her joyful expression faltered slightly, dimming like a candle in a draft. Shaking her head, she sighed, disappointment lacing her voice. “The three princes only have eyes for Makenna. At first, I gained a shred of their attention because of Anthea’s act of saving their lives. But that was fleeting—a hollow favor given out of politeness more than anything else.”

A cold, sharp smile tugged at my lips. “Ah, those princes are utterly bewitched, aren’t they?” I said with a sneer. “But I wonder… if they discovered Makenna’s true identity, would they still be so captivated?”

Evelyn’s brow furrowed, her confusion plain. “What are you implying, sir?” she asked, her voice laced with curiosity and unease.

I let my words drip like honey laced with poison as I replied, “I suspect Makenna might be a white wolf.”

Evelyn’s reaction was immediate. Her eyes widened in disbelief, and her breath hitched. She was no stranger to the conflict between the Lycan royal family and the white wolf clan, and the weight of my statement wasn’t lost on her.

I smirked, leaning back slightly as if savoring her shock. “Leonardo despises the white wolves because they are a reminder that his claim to the throne was never legitimate.”

He never won the favor of the Saint of the white wolf clan all those years ago. Out of spite, he waged a rebellion and stole the throne. If a member of the white wolf clan were to reemerge, it would not only threaten his rule but also dredge up a scandal he’s worked tirelessly to bury.

Evelyn’s face paled, her earlier joy now replaced with fear and disbelief.

She stared at me, her lips trembling slightly. “Are you saying… the current king is a fraud? That can’t be true!”

I turned to her slowly, a glimmer of amusement dancing in my eyes. “Hmph. Do you really think he could’ve seized the throne without the Harrison family’s full backing?”

As I spoke, an ingenious idea began to unfurl in my mind like a delicate blossom in the dark.

A sly smile danced on my lips. “Those sex slaves should be properly trained by now, don’t you think? Perhaps it’s time we host a banquet — a grand spectacle — and invite the king and princes to witness the fruits of their training. What do you say?”

Evelyn, ever sharp and perceptive, froze momentarily at my words. But it didn’t take her long to piece together my intent.

“Sir, are you planning to expose Makenna’s identity at the banquet?” she asked, her voice tinged with both curiosity and unease.

I offered a chilling smile and leaned in closer, lowering my voice to a whisper as I revealed the finer details of my plan. The sinister brilliance of it unfurled like smoke, weaving its way into her thoughts. Evelyn’s eyes widened with horror as the full weight of my words sank in. Her face drained of color, and she instinctively took a step back, her voice trembling as she stammered, “This… this is far too dangerous.”

My expression hardened, and my gaze grew as sharp as a blade. “I have complete faith in you,” I said, my tone cold and unyielding. “You will handle this flawlessly.”

The steely edge in my voice sent a shiver down Evelyn’s spine. She bit her lip, her reluctance visible on her face, but my piercing stare left no room for negotiation. After a long pause, she gave a hesitant nod, her voice barely above a whisper as she agreed to the plan.
