Chapter 1247
Chapter 1247:
Neither of us moved. The room was so still, we could hear every rise and fall of our breathing.
After what felt like ages, Dominic finally let go of my chin. Without a word, he turned and walked slowly toward the couch across the room.
He dropped onto the sofa, his whole body giving off a chill that warned me to keep my distance.
I studied his face from the side. His features were sharp, almost like they’d been carved from stone. His mouth was set in a firm, emotionless line, and even the shape of his jaw seemed cold and rigid. I nervously bit my lower lip and inched toward him.
The fabric of my dress made the faintest whisper as it brushed over the floor. I lowered myself to my knees beside him and gently tugged at the edge of his shirt.
“I’m sorry…”
At my apology, Dominic’s body stiffened. A flash of surprise crossed his face, but it vanished quickly as he put his mask of calm back on.
Not wasting the chance, I rose just enough and placed a quick kiss at the corner of his mouth.
The way he froze on the spot made me chuckle softly. “Dominic, are you jealous?” I teased.
Makenna’s POV:
Dominic let out a cold snort, his piercing gaze slicing toward me like glass. “So what if I am?”
I laughed softly, unbothered by the frost in his voice. My fingertip traced the tension along his handsome jaw, giving him a playful poke. “You’re so petty.”
The corners of his brows began to draw together again, that stormy look returning. Quickly, I cupped his face in my hands and leaned in, pressing my forehead gently to his. “Dominic, no matter what happens, I’m your mate. You know there’s a space in my heart that only belongs to you.”

He looked caught off guard.
Sensing the crack in his walls, I leaned closer, my lips brushing the shell of his ear. “Do you know… every time you give me the cold shoulder, it hurts right here?”
I guided his hand to my chest, pressing it over my heart. “It aches so much I can barely stand it.”
His Adam’s apple bobbed in a slow swallow. The chill in his eyes finally melted, replaced by something smoldering.
I pressed a gentle kiss to his lips, intending to soothe him further. But before I could pull away, he seized me.
In one swift motion, I found myself straddling him, seated on his lap, breath stolen in surprise.
My arms instinctively wrapped around his neck as his hands claimed my waist, holding me like I might vanish.
Our breaths mingled, warm and charged in the thickening air between us.
“From now on…” I murmured, rubbing my nose against his with a playful pout, “you’re not allowed to ignore me or shut me out anymore.”
He responded with a low hum, deep and rough—and the next moment, I was flipped onto the sofa.
His lips crashed into mine, hungry and wild. His tongue plunged deep inside me like a starving man. Every flick, every nip, poured his jealousy, his longing, his fury into me until my head spun.
