Chapter 1228:

Alden’s lips curled into a smirk. He grabbed my neck and pressed me firmly against the mattress, his eyes burning with passion.

“Makenna, if you don’t want to be too exhausted, don’t move. My self-control isn’t great,” he warned through clenched teeth.

Hearing his words, I half-closed my eyes. I reached up and kneaded my own breast, deliberately teasing him further.

“Makenna, you…” Alden muttered a soft curse, his hand leaving my neck to seize my breast. He thrust into me with passion, each movement harder and deeper. As he drove in and out, the wetness from my sensitive core coated us both, leaving a slick mixture where our bodies joined. I tightened around him, pulling a sharp gasp from his lips.

Then, without warning, he pulled out completely. In one swift motion, he flipped me over so I was facing away from him. Kneeling behind me, he pushed back inside with a powerful thrust.

The moment he entered, the intense pleasure made me lift my head, clutching the sheets tightly beneath me. I tried to speak, but the relentless rhythm of his thrusts overwhelmed me. My body responded instinctively, my waist twisting to match his movements as I surrendered to the rising wave of sensation.

Alden’s POV:

The following morning, while the sky was still dark, I woke to find Makenna curled up against me, fast asleep and peaceful. I glanced down, watching the calm rise and fall of her chest, the soft color warming her face.

“Makenna, wait for me to come back,” I murmured, placing a light kiss on her brow.

Moving carefully, I eased myself out of bed, quickly strapped on my armor, gathered my gear, and slipped silently out the door.

Outside, the soldiers had already assembled, fully armed and standing at the ready. I gave them a quick once-over and muttered under my breath, “Move out.”

We left Marehelm without a sound. With Leonardo’s forces tightening their grip on the city, I could only take a small group of my best fighters.

From sunrise to nightfall, we pressed on through a long and grueling journey until we reached the Lycan palace, its towering walls cloaked in moonlight. The structure loomed above us, ghostly and imposing, exuding an aura of power and danger.

I lifted my gaze to those massive walls, then led my men along the palace’s outer edge, moving like shadows. According to the intelligence we had gathered, a hidden chamber inside held clues about the sacred artifact of the white wolves. It was the only chance we had to turn the tide.

One of my men leaned close and whispered, “Mr. Cloud, the side entrance is up ahead. Hardly any guards. We’ve got a clear shot to slip through.”

I gave a firm nod and signaled for the others to stay close. Soon, we crept along the shadowed walls, weaving between patrols, and slipped quietly into the palace’s heart. The interior blazed with torchlight, guards moving in steady shifts. We pressed ourselves into the dark corners, waiting patiently until the path was clear.

The hallways twisted and turned like a maze. Luckily, the princes had given me a map and told me that valuables—and likely old scrolls—were stashed in a hidden room. We had memorized the layout, so it didn’t take long to find the path leading to the chamber.
