Chapter 1214
Chapter 1214:
Then, he turned his eyes on me—no longer amused, but poisoned with something darker: bitterness, rage, obsession.
“If it weren’t for you,” he growled, “I wouldn’t be in this position!”
“Antoni!” I couldn’t stop the question that ripped through my shock. “You’d actually betray the werewolves… just because of me?”
“Werewolves?” He spat the word like rot. “Pitiful mongrels chasing loyalty and honor like children chasing stars. I am done with them! The Wizard Clan offers real power—and they see my worth.”
“You are deluded,” I hissed. “You are sick!”
He merely shrugged, his expression devoid of any remorse. Then, with a cold flick of his fingers, he issued the command. “Take them! I want no survivors.”
“Copy that,” the soldiers replied in unison, raising their weapons. They charged at us all at once. Blades caught the torchlight, flashing brilliantly. The roar of combat drowned out everything else.
We fought back with all our might, desperate to hold the line, but the sheer number of enemies was overwhelming. Wave after wave pressed in on us, and soon, we were forced onto the back foot. There was no time to think—only to move, block, strike, and survive.
Makenna’s POV:
“Finish off Antoni! Don’t let that traitor live!”
Just as it seemed like there was no way out, a deafening roar of war cries erupted from afar, slicing through the silence like lightning in a storm.
Antoni whipped around, stunned, his face frozen in disbelief as he spotted Amon leading a massive army, charging toward us like a flood breaking through a dam.
His eyes nearly popped out of his head. Fury twisted his features as he hissed through clenched teeth, “No way! Reinforcements? How is that even possible?”

Antoni turned beet red and shot me a look that could kill. “You! This was your plan all along!”
“That’s right!” I gripped my sword tighter, its cold blade whispering vengeance. Without hesitation, I leapt into the fray beside our allies.
In an instant, the tide of the battle shifted. Antoni’s men, blindsided and rattled, scrambled to retreat, tripping over their fallen comrades in their haste to flee.
Amon’s warriors, brutal and unrelenting, wasted no time in pinning Antoni down.
“Do you really think this is over, Makenna?” Antoni’s eyes glinted with a wild, unhinged light. A crooked, sinister grin spread across his face just before he lunged at me like a striking snake.
I wasn’t caught off guard. The instant he lunged, I lashed out with the blade, driving it deep into his arm.
“Ahhh!” he howled, the cry tearing from his throat. His scream echoed through the air as blood sprayed from the wound. The severed limb thudded to the ground with a wet, heavy smack.
All color drained from his face. Blood soaked what was left of his arm. He staggered back, dazed, his eyes flickering between pain and disbelief.
I stared him down, my veins cold and my smirk sharp as a knife. “Did you honestly think I’d walk in blind? Jett’s fate haunted me, yes—but I’m not foolish enough to stroll straight into a trap.”
He gripped the remains of his arm, blood pouring through his fingers, staining his clothes in dark crimson. Through clenched teeth, he growled, “Makenna Dunn, you… you bitch! I swear, this isn’t the end!” His eyes blazed with fury, and his words came out hoarse and bitter. “You’ll pay for this—I swear it!”
